Karbon Korea Award of Appreciation

For the first time in Korea, a test facility that can pre-check CO₂ capture at a carbon dioxide (CO₂) emitting business has been built and put into operation. Karbon Korea Co., Ltd., a company specializing in carbon capture, announced on the 15th that it will complete the construction of a CO₂ capture plant at the KC Glass Co., Ltd. glass manufacturing plant in Cheonan-si on the 13th and begin continuous operation of CO₂ capture.

The CO₂ capture plant was developed by Karbon Korea and can capture 1 ton of CO₂ per day. It is a container (8m long x 3m wide in size), so it is convenient to move and is easy to install and dismantle on site.

Karbon Korea will collect CO₂ emitted from the glass manufacturing process for two months and provide KC Glass with comprehensive information on CO₂ capture, including capture amount, capture efficiency, and energy consumption.

Based on this, KC Glass & Materials plans to establish an investment plan for carbon capture facilities. Karbon Korea Chairman Shin Dong-sik said, “Based on the information obtained from the test plant, we will pursue the construction of a CO₂ capture facility customized for the company.”
